Tragic Incident in Adamawa State: Forced Marriage Ends in Husband’s Death
A 19-year-old girl named Rumasa U Muhd from Sharong, Shalleng Local Government Area of Adamawa State, is at the center of a tragic incident. Rumasa was married to Muhd Adamu, a 35-year-old man she did not like.
The incident occurred when Muhd Adamu was found unconscious and rushed to the hospital in an attempt to save his life. Unfortunately, he passed away before the hospital could complete their efforts.
The Shalleng Local Government Area Police have since arrested Rumasa U Muhd. Preliminary police investigations revealed that Rumasa was forced into the marriage. On August 6, 2021, just three weeks after the marriage, she allegedly killed her husband.
The Honorable Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, CP Aliyu Alhaji, has ordered a thorough investigation and prosecution in court. He also advised the public to avoid forced marriages to prevent such tragedies in the future.
