UNIABUJA Japanese Language Karaoke Competition 2024
The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) is excited to announce its inaugural Japanese Language Karaoke Competition, set to take place on November 2 and 3, 2024.
This cultural extravaganza aims to celebrate the rich and vibrant Japanese karaoke tradition, while also providing a platform for students to showcase their Japanese language skills and creativity.
Who can participate?
The competition is open to all UNIABUJA students, regardless of their major or level of Japanese language proficiency.
Participants can choose to sing any Japanese song of their choice, but they must be able to perform the song in its entirety and with correct pronunciation and intonation.
How to Apply
To apply for the competition, students must submit a completed application form and a video recording of themselves singing a Japanese song. The application deadline is October 31, 2024.
Competition format
The competition will be held in two stages: a preliminary round and a final round. The preliminary round will be held on November 2, 2024, and the final round will be held on November 3, 2024.
In the preliminary round, participants will perform in front of a panel of judges. The judges will assess each participant’s singing skills, pronunciation, intonation, and overall stage presence. The top 10 participants from the preliminary round will advance to the final round.
In the final round, participants will perform again in front of a panel of judges. The judges will select the top three winners based on their singing skills, pronunciation, intonation, overall stage presence, and their ability to engage the audience.
Prizes
The top three winners of the competition will receive prizes as follows:
• First place: ₦50,000 cash prize and a certificate of achievement
• Second place: ₦30,000 cash prize and a certificate of achievement
• Third place: ₦20,000 cash prize and a certificate of achievement
All participants will also receive a certificate of participation.
