Biafran Leader, Nnamdi Kanu Sues Nigerian President Buhari for Alleged Human Rights Abuses
Biafran leader Nnamdi Kanu has filed a lawsuit against Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, accusing him of human rights abuses. Kanu is seeking permission to return to the United Kingdom, citing a desire to continue living in peace.
In the lawsuit, which was filed in a court in Abia State, southeastern Nigeria, Kanu demands N5 billion in damages from President Buhari. He claims this amount as compensation for the losses he incurred during his arrest and arbitrary detention.
Kanu is currently being held by the Nigerian Security Service (DSS) following his arrest abroad two months ago. He faces multiple charges, including treason, inciting violence, and promoting regional hatred through social media.
