Nigerian Meteorological Agency Issues Alert on Potential Building Collapses and Road Crashes Due to Torrential Rains and Floods

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has issued a warning regarding the potential collapse of buildings and increased risk of crashes on the country’s roads as floods persist, accompanied by torrential rains across the nation.

The agency has advised Nigerians to remain vigilant to mitigate any possible repercussions from the ongoing severe weather conditions.

Citing recent forecasts, the agency has highlighted the likelihood of poor road conditions and strong winds. These adverse weather conditions are expected to impact the country’s infrastructure significantly, with a high probability of causing the collapse of public bridges and further deteriorating road safety.
