Bauchi State Implements New System to Enforce Zakat Payment

In Bauchi State, Nigeria, following a sermon and reminder held last Friday on the plight of the underprivileged, the Islamic Sharia Commission has rescheduled the list of the most popular names in the state to enforce the payment of Zakat under Islamic law.

Our correspondent, Shehu Abdullah, reports on the new measures available to the commission. He stated that after the sermon delivered last week, His Excellency the Governor announced the introduction of a system that would compel financiers to pay tithes throughout the state.

This initiative aims to ensure that the wealthier members of the community fulfil their religious obligation to support those in need, thereby addressing the economic disparities within the state.
